Idea Score Calculator
The Idea Score Calculator allows you to quickly evaluate your idea — either from your Idea Notes or as a standalone tool.
Your idea will receive a score out of 10, based on three core criteria: Novelty, Patentability, Scalability
You’ll also receive a clear summary, complete with suggested improvements and next steps.
If the score looks promising, you're ready to dive into our Idea Map — a step-by-step tool that guides you through developing your idea into a fully protected asset.

Begin Your Journey with Initiate
When you're ready to develop a scored idea, simply click “Develop” to launch the first stage of your IP journey with Clear IP.
In these stages, you'll interact with our guided Legal Avatar, responding to a series of questions designed to capture the essence of your idea.
There are five other similar stages, all designed to best capture and turn your idea into an innovation!
Clear IP's Idea Cards
We understand that managing and safeguarding your intellectual creations is as important as capturing them. As you progress through your IP journey, each of your ideas are stored in as an "Idea Card." These cards are color-coded by progress and date, helping you quickly identify the status of each idea.
Clicking on an Idea Card opens your personal Idea Manager, where you can access and manage a suite of documents that have been AI-generated based on your answers and public data.
Ready to Patent
The last stage of the Idea Cards is the "Ready" stage. Once you have fully completed all the stages, your card will turn gold.
In the Idea Manager, you’ll be prompted to click the “Ready to Patent” button — which notifies a Clear IP reviewer and opens up the next step.
You’ll then schedule a meeting (under NDA) with a Clear IP professional to review your invention. At that session, we’ll walk you through our 20-day plan to turn your idea into a completed patent application — ready to file.
